What Can I Do
to Defeat Taxpayer Funding
of Embryonic Stem Cell Research in New Mexico?
1. Contact your legislator and tell him/her your views. You can call the Round House at
505-986-4300 and ask for your legislator's office and leave him/her a
message.
2. Contact all committee members of the Appropriations Committee and the Finance Committee and also tell them your views.
3. E-mail info@rtlnm.org or call our State Office to obtain a copy of our petition, and obtain as many signatures as possible. When it is filled with signatures or as full as you can get it, drop off or mail the petition to the State RTL office (address is on the bottom of the petition). These signatures will give you and those who have signed it a voice that will be heard in legislative committees, with your legislator, and everywhere the bill is discussed in the New Mexico Legislature. Feel free to make copies of the blank petition to gather more signatures or contact the State office in Albuquerque at 505-881-4563 for additional copies. The petition needs to be printed on 8 1/2 by 14 inch paper (legal size). Standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper will cut off part of the petition making it null and void. It is very important to get as many signatures as possible. To date we have 10,000+ signatures. However, more are needed.
